We have 2 streams of Ballet training:
*PRE-PRIMARY TO MAJORS GRADE WORK; includes Classical, Free Movement and Character. Only students who participate in all their grade work classes can be chosen for Classical or Lyrical Troupes. Participation in exams is recommended but not compulsory. Students must be at least 5 years old to undertake their first exam. Children will be assigned to their grade according to their age and skill. This will be determined within the first few weeks of Term 1. By completing all the required examinations, your child can become a certified R.A.D. Ballet Teacher!
Students will only be able to advance onto Pointe after a Pointe Assessment with our teachers.
*OPEN BALLET CLASSES: If your child wants to learn ballet, but does not want to participate in exams or eisteddfods, then these are the classes for you. Children as young as 3 years old can take part in Twinkle Toes Ballet; with classes advancing to all age groups up to Open Age. These students will only perform at our end of year Concert.
At all levels our ballet training will improve your child’s strength, grace, musicality and flexibility. Partaking in two grade Ballet classes per week is compulsory for our Ballet and Lyrical Troupe dancers. Partaking in at least one Ballet class per week is compulsory for all Jazz and Contemporary Troupe dancers.
